"Oreolake" A skylake based gaming rig.

Hell All!

It has been a long time since I did a pc build so I decided to jump into things with a bang so to speak. My last pc build was nothing crazy it was not even modded at all. it was based of the sandy bridge 2500k, I felt the itch to upgrade and thought I would share with you all.

For starters I decided to go with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M full acrylic.
I wanted to do an "oreo" based build because see a lot of black and white builds, but not very many cases (that I've seen) that are black on the outside and white on the inside. Thus the name Oreolake.

After stripping the thing down to the bare bones I masked of the outside of the case as best I could to make sure it remained all black.

The paint I decided to go with was from Lowes, valspar paint primer combo in gloss white.
Iv'e used this paint for other projects and have always been happy with it.

after applying 4 coats I was pretty happy with the outcome however I lost light and decided to finish in the morning with clear coat.

Tomorrow, as long as it doesn't rain I will finish off the painting with clear coats and put everything back together.

Stay tuned for more!

I think its better if you make the slot at the back white and black stripe

because the way i see it

it's too plain

well it's your taste and your build

Thanks for the feedback, I feel once its packed with the components it will be less plain, at least I hope it will.

these are the fan bracket, these will be painted white.
OEKRkua.jpg

also ill be masking off the rest of the fins and painting only the top of heatsink, as this is the only visible part anyway.

index cards work really well for masking.

I went with these black and white phanteks fans as that fit my build aesthetic better.

If memory serves correct, you're going to hate life with that power supply. The OEM decided to put capacitors in the ends of the cables on some of the new i and x series for Corsair. This means the last 1-2" of cable going into the GPU/board are very rigid.

I was able to salvage a couple mirrors from an old display from work to help show off the rgb on the gpu...
