[HELP] windows 7 virtual machine on windows 8.1 pro w/ media center

I am currently running Windows 8.1 Pro w/ Media Center RTM but i need to install Windows 7 Home Premium x64 in a virtual machine environment.

How do it do it for free? (i do have a legit windows 7 key)

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

Simple. Check out Hyper-V in Windows 8.x
It's not installed by default, you need to do so. It's very simple.
Simply, do Win+X to access the power menu, and select Programs and Features.

Then on the left side column, click on Turn Windows feature on or off

Finally, a panel will open, simply check the box Hyper-V, and click on OK. Hyper-V will be installed. You 'll need to restart your computer.

You are now have Hyper-V.

You'll find Hyper-V in the full app list in the Start Screen (Start Screen > Ctrl+Tab, or click on the down arrow), or of course, you can just search for it.

I sue it for Windows 7 as well.

  • 2 weeks later...

Not since Windows 8 Pro :)

Microsoft decided to include it with it.

So wait. Do you need Pro or just 8?

For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.
