3000(O.C.) Help

My CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K

My RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz (PC4-24000) C15 Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)

My Motherboard: Asus Z170-A

 

The motherboard specifications page says 4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133(O.C.) MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory 

 

Will everything work straight away out of the box or will I have to do something with XMP or something like that?

Everything will work out of the box. thats just saying what it'll support for overclocks

intel says the 6700k will support up to 2133mhz ddr4

going any higher depends on your luck, much like overclocking

it will work out of the box, yes, but it wont run at 3000MHz

you need to enable XMP for it to run at that speed

just enable XMP in bios

you go into UEFI and you click the setting that says XMP and you click the option that says 3000 somewhere

then save and reset and youre done
