The purpose is pure gaming.

The Budged is 600-700€

Iam well aware, that my CPU is not THE best, and iam going to upgrade it sooner or later. But first i want to get a new graphics card.

I inteded to buy the GForce GTX 980 TI but iam unshure if its the best for my system (concerning CPU as well as monitor) and if, then which one (MSI, ASUS?)

Hope u can help me out.

Best regards!

right now the 980ti seems fine, but i recommend waiting for pascal if possible

That CPU is fine, and will be fine for awhile, no need to worry :)

I would suggest a 980ti,

What? That CPU is fine for at least the next 5 years. Unfriend whoever told you otherwise. As for which graphics card, I would advice you to be patient and wait for the new cards that are launching around summer/fall.

Who says your CPU was not the best and you need to upgrade? 980Ti is fine though Polaris and Pascal are near.

Concerning the CPU, it was my thought, but on the other hand, iam not very skilled with hardware :D

The question now is: is it worth it, to wait so long? iam pretty much sick of not being able to play modern games (my current card is a gtx 660) without any frame-issues or on good graphics settings.

And the price for the next gen cards will be (presumably a lot) higher than my budge is, will it not?

When the new generation is adapted well in the gaming market (which will be like a half year or more?) i can still sell my old one and upgrade, as well as being able to make use of the price-drop.

Guess it will be the 980TI then, now the question which one?

Moonzy says the MSI would fit better to me, any thoughts?

Thanks a lot btw for all the answers, thumbs up ;)

Yes, it will be very worth it. This node jump has been about 5 years in the making and is way overdue. We're talking 980 ti performance for about $350 + proper dx 12 support from both vendors.

I would seriously wait. With your budget you can get a GTX 1080/1070 that will perform equal to/ above a 980 Ti for possibly less money. You'll be happy you did.

I convinced my friend to hold off a 970 until Pascal.
