How To Give Myself A Cookie

LtStaffel

No, not the chocolate chip kind.

Hello,

I've been recently interested in writing my own cookie. There doesn't seem to be much trouble in doing that, I've found a couple sites that explain it. However I've had trouble finding out how to put it on my own computer. So maybe this is a simple question (or questions) but I'm pretty much blind in this area. Where do I put the cookie, and what file type should it be?

Thanks in advance for explaining networking to a complete newbie :D

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

If you are on about the HTTP cookies that websites use then you need a webserver. Set one up in a linux vm or use XAMPP for windows (I personally prefer the portable one, under more downloads). You can then write a php file to set the cookie for anyone who requests the page. the broswer will automaticly store the cookie. there are options for the cookies so look on the php page for help. I am here if you need anything else or help. Note: this may be reposted several times as it was posted during a DDOS attack. sorry for possible spam.

What are you trying to do? Cookies are used by websites to help identify you, you can't just add cookies and even if you did they wouldn't do anything.
