Is using macbook air underload in clamshell mode safe?

I have a macbook air early 2014 model with cracked screen and have now gotten a 23.6 inch monitor. trying to keep my desk neat i want to have it vertically in clam mode beside my monitor so its out the way but im not sure weather that is safe. some claim that it Funking well isnt and some soay it is safe. im not sure so ive com here hoping i can get some better answers

It should be fine.

Does the air have an HDD or SSD?

it has a PCIe based ssd

Then it will have no ill effects.

No moving parts besides the fan.

I did it all the time and still do with my MBP.  No issues.
