So I've decided that I want to focus on getting a car, and was thinking of selling my 4690k and motherboard, and dropping down to a 2500k. I can pick up the i5 and a mobo for significantly less than I can sell my current i5 and motherboard for. Would my performance suffer severely if I did this?

There are always cuts and balances with motherboards. Just find one that has the most use to you.

CPU won't be noticeable unless you play very CPU heavy games. Other than that, I think you'll be fine.

I mainly play GTA V and Dirt Rally, as for the mobo its whatever on my friend has with his i5. Asus P8Z77.

well i always worked in the holidays while doing my a-levels and just trust me its not worth it considoring the huge loss in value. just work a little for your car. the most expensive part of a car is the running costs.

also a little tip. if you want to buy a really cheap car go for an old diesel. they run way more miles because they have lower rpm and less temperature.

Im looking at a Mk4 Golf TDI. The car isnt a problem to buy, its insuring it thats the issue.

If you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for money to buy and insure the car, I'd leave it a while till you've saved up more money if I were you.

Especially if you're going second hand, there's soooo many things that can go wrong, and fixes are expensive.

You could have a £1000 bill plonked at your feet a week after buying the car.

Almost as cool as my temps

yeah its not bad but the VW of that time have engine problems which are way more expensive to fix than the typical clutch and exhaust system problem of older cars. my friends polo just had a broken fan belt which was 500€ to fix.

its just something you have to keep in mind. but obviously the rest of the VW parts are reliable as hell
