Trolled pc world!

Today I went to Pc world and I thought I would go and mess around with the staff.

 

(guy comes up to me asking if I needed help)*engage extreme knowledge mode*

 

Me: Im looking for a Quadro K6000

Man: Do you want me to guide you to the desktop section

Me: Nope those are too expensive, im only 16, i can only afford a k6000 at the moment.

Man: What will you be using your pc for, I may be able to help you.

Me: mainly bitcoin mining, running benchmarks, overvolting, folding and some coding

Man: Ahh yes I recognize the quadko k1000 now, its part of the apple mac pro, sadly its not in store but if you bring your parents then we can get it ordered to your house.

Me: I was also looking for some Ram, I need 32gb 

Man: We only sell 8gb ram but if you get 6 of them then you should be good, my son does gaming with 50gb but with these modern games you cant get enough.

Me: Yeah, I guess that happens. Anyways would you mind directing me to where I could find a Razer deathadder(it was right beside me this whole time)

Man: Sorry let me check the database, I dont think we sell that phone anymore. 

Me: Thanks for your time, I better be going.

Man: There might be stock in Currys(the pcworld and currys near me share the same stock near me so if one is out of a certain product then it out of stock in the other shop).

 

 

Weirdly as I was walking out of the shop the security guard asked me for ID, anyways I found it funny.

Except for the I.D. bit, what was that about? If you get asked that again, ask to see his SIA license... I'm pretty sure he'll back off.

I didnt show him my ID, I just kept on walking as if he never said anything.

They are all marketing staff, 90% of them know nothing about PC's. Only time I go in there is to find something cheap. 90% of the time I leave the store empty handed because well... half of the stuff in the store is a complete rip off, except for maybe one or two things.

I worked in PC world for a few weeks before I ended up leaving.

They actually tell you what to say in certain situations, even if its wrong.

I got in trouble with the manager for misleading a customer when I told the customer the truth about a product they wanted and suggesting a different product that would better fit their situation (it was slightly cheaper).  I was told If I was caught telling customers things I wasn't told to say, then I would be sacked.

 

I tried to have a rational argument but he wouldn't have any of it, saying I'm wrong....and to tell customers only what I am told to say.

 

The next day I was caught again telling a customer the truth about a laptop (the customer wanted a laptop that was WAY over kill and not needed what so ever for the purpose they needed it for) and suggesting alternatives that would be more suited. I was sacked for costing the store money.  That is a load BS, I was being told to lie to customers to get money out of them.....what the hell man, I wouldn't be able to do that, its morally wrong...

 

Also everything is way over priced like crap.

Or they are knowledgeable in computers, but are bound to telling lies because their jobs require it. So sad if that was the case

It isn't the case at all you can tell they know absolutely nothing the minute they open their mouth

Yes we are told to tell lies to customers to get more money of them and to push for things the customer don't need at all.

There is no "what do you need this laptop for" and then give them options for example, its basically, "here is our most expensive piece of crap, but its totally worth it *wink*"
