Im a full time stock trader looking to buy a laptop that can handle as many monitors as possible for under $1,400.
I will not be gaming on it so i dont need the best graphics card, I have done some research on gpu's like the amd firepro w600 only to find reviews where it cant handle 6 monitors as advertised, just saying.
i will want the laptop to have at least a 17 inch screen and a gpu able to handle at least 2 other screens , 5 other screens in total is what i would prefer. I did some reserach on usb graphic adapters and im not sure if that will work for me. Im not looking for the absolut best performance since i wont be gaming but i do want a laptop that will run my trading software no problem and have still have muscle left over if you know what i mean. I dont want anything holding it back because i cant afford any lag or failure during market hours. I have looked into a few MSI workstations but im still not sure what to get to give me the biggest bang for my buck or what setup to go for. Can someone please suggest something ?

go here to look at the best laptop workstations out there. Not sure about pricing on all of them, but some are in your budget. You could also get an older version of the same model for less money.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

iPad Air 2 (for school)

iPhone 6

Xbox One Forza 6 Limited Edition Blue

wrong just plain wrong. MSI does not make the "best" worktsations, I would never lay my hands on a msi workstations because they are badly build compares to workstations from Dell, HP and Lenovo. The only thing MSI has going for them, is that they are a littlen cheaper. And calling something the best is always wrong because their will be people that thinks something else is the best.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

Take a look at the ThinkPad P70. There are several configurations available, so there is bound to be one that meets your needs. It sounds like you won't need the Xeon CPU or M5000M graphics. A regular i7 and M3000M should to the trick.

When I buy adapters, I just go on Amazon and check the reviews. That's usually reliable enough. Just don't go with no-name brands and you should be fine.

The P70 is the first 17" workstation from Lenovo since the W701 from 2010. The latter can actually cost more than a new P70. If you can't live without 17", then try HP. Their EliteBook workstations are pretty good as well, and they have slightly older models that will definitely be in your budget. The 8770w is a good choice. A high-end configuration sells for about 1000$ on eBay, and there are plenty available right now.

Ever considered an eGPU if you really need tons of screens?

i just looked into it and the purpose of me having a laptop that can handle multiple screens was so that i can easily unplug everything and move it along with a few light weight screens. i am going to build a full blown desktop computer with a full tower for home use . its not necessary to go for a egpu in my case in my opinion. i move from state to state sometimes and trade while i travel so im trying to keep it as simple and light weight as possible. a workstation with a quadro gpu and some extra light weight screens seem to be best. but thanks for the info i will look into it a little more. might help me
