According to an Gaming on Linux (this pertains to Saints Row 2), the author starts off his article with, " Performance wise, it's really not all that great. I've been testing it only at 1080p (1920x1080) and the performance is all over the place. " Sounds bad, right?
He also says:

  • Frame rate drops down to 20FPS (with a 980TI) with major stutters when it comes to loading new sections (there was a note saying it could be fixed with a faster hard drive)
  • Struggles to stay around 30FPS in the city
  • No mouse support in main menu
  • and a few more stuff

However, according to his article on Saints Row: The Third, it seems to be much better than SR2.  He starts off with a rejoice for a proper mouse support.  He also goes on and say that the performance isn't as bad, with frame rates jumping from 70-100, then goes down to 40 on busy sections (guns blazing with helicopters and cops).

Edit: Oh and by the way, I'm not hating on games on Linux.  In fact, I want more top-quality games on that platform.  Just don't want any misunderstanding.

Atleast it is a step in the right direction. Though I feel a game written off Vulkan API will perform much better on Linux.

Just keeping this here as a I'm not surprised that Saints Row 2 ended up as a shit port. CD Projekt did an absolutely abhorrent job with the PC port, which is what I'm assuming the Linux port was built on. If you dig through the sound files, they manage to be bigger while simultaneously somehow being of much shittier quality.
