Led rgb amplifier

HI guys so i have a maximus viii formula and a 12v 12 amp led rgb strip 

If i connect the from the led 4pin header from the formula 3.5 amp 12 v into this amp http://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT-Repeater-Signal-Amplifier-Strip/dp/B00E4JQDKE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460648972&sr=8-1&keywords=led+amplifier and connect at the other and of the amp my led strip will it work fine. Well if you just wanting to control RGB LED's you just want a controller with remote itself as that is to boost the RGB signal and power for extra long runs.

I think what he's trying to do is use the on-board Asus RGB controller to control a larger load than it's rated for, like have some desk mounted strips match his case. 

 

How many meters/feet of strip are you using?  I use about 20 of those amplifiers in my xmas display and it will work but I wouldn't run a 12 amp load off your PC's PSU so you'll definitely want a external power supply.

Ah good eye didn't read that properly there, and @EcDarkSky that amplifier as long as it's a powered unit should work.
