How is it better than the be quiet psu? Just because its made by Seasonic it is not superior to any other psu.

The be quiet one is a higher end model than the seasonic one, its main advantage would be the better efficiency and the very good (and quiet)fan.

Because the beQuiet! model uses Chinese TEAPO capacitors while the SeaSonic model uses Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors. I don't simply recommend something because of the brand name. XFX's XT lineup taught me that lesson.

Hi everyone,

I need a PSU that can power 2x GTX 970 system.
Can you tell me, which of these two is better, since they're at a similar price at the moment:

SEASONIC SS-850AM or Be Quiet! STRAIGHT POWER 10, 80 Plus Gold (800W)

I guess the be quiet one is better.

Actually no, the SeaSonic is the much better choice.

However, you won't need more than a 650W PSU to run two GTX 970s in SLI.

I was looking for a 700W PSU, but there isn't one good enough in my price range for some reason.

There are a lot of 800/850W, which would still do fine. I have a pretty high overclock on my GPU and CPU, whould like to go for at least 700W.

Fair enough.

Are there any other choices aside from the two that are in your price range?

The Seasonic is better curcuit wise, but both arn't bad. Maybe the bequiet! is a bit quieter ... but I can't find a good review where both are compared directly  and noise at low levels perceive everyone diffrent.

Those were the only ones from a reputable brand that I saw in my price range. I just ordered the seasonic one, thanks!
