Alright, thanks to all the great people here on LTT I have been able to find most of what i'm looking for, but even though I know what gpu I'm going with I also know there are many different versions. What I need to know is which GTX 980Ti is the best for what I'm trying to do. This is going to go into a 4k gaming/workstation rig I'm working on, also I'm trying to avoid using SLI and use just one high-end card. That being said it will be running 4k so if it's just the one card overclocking might be necessary, although I've never done it and I'm not to sure on how well it would boost performance for what it's doing.

Just pick one like an MSI Gaming, EVGA FTW, or Asus Strix. All will overclock very nicely.

Consider a single R9 Fury X too. Not quite the 980Ti killer in DX11, but quite the 980Ti killer in DX12.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Are there any benchmarks for DX12 cause all I've seen Are marks for DX11?

For those, Digital Foundry is a great source.

Precisely. Furthermore, you save a couple of bucks and get a quieter card with its one AIO loop.

The ZOTAC 980Ti's are surprising good. The AMP! Extreme is fantastic triple slot fan, and the AMP! Omega is even better if you like factory overclocks higher (both have overclocks). They are some of the coolest running 980Ti's without watercooling and run fairly quiet. Great buy, and aren't even as expensive as some of EVGA's higher skews. They are some of the cheaper cost 980Ti's as well.

Ok so the GTX series seems to lack a little bit compared to the R9, but with the release of the GTX 1080 and 1070 around the corner don't you think that nvidia would address this in the new cards, and if what I've heard hold true they will cost close to what a 980Ti costs now.

You are approaching the unknown territory here mate. We can only speculate at this point. :(

New games in the future will use DX12.

So if the new games in the future will be playable in DX12 what's going to happen to the older games like the Witcher or Mordor? Will they stay on DX11 or could they release a patch to make it run on DX12?

They will most probably stay on DX11. But don't worry, either GPUs have more than enough power to run those DX11 titles at maximum settings. ^_^
