So I've recently thought about upgrading my PC with an i5 6600K CPU (with an air cooler) and a MSI Z170A GAMING PRO with 8gb of DDR4 RAM.

I'm UPGRADING from an ''old'' FX 4100 quad core 3,6GHz cpu... and a asROCK 960gm-gs3 fx motherboad! I'm wondering if this is a good idea or just a waste of money

WHAT'S YOUR GUYS THOUGHTS?!

That´s a good upgrade. Make sure your psu is up to par as well.

Well, it depends. Does your old machine still do what you want it to, and do it well? If so, no reason to upgrade. If you're unhappy with the machine, time for an upgrade.

it'S BRONZE CERTIFIED... AND I JUST  want to know how much watts are required for a skylake and ddr4

Efficency =/= Quality. If the psu isn´t quality, it poses a major threat to your computer in whole.

I mean I think it's pretty good... I've seen some forum posts and their mostly posetive

My only concern is that I´ve heard nothing about that manufacturer. @STRMfrmXMN You have any info on the psu in question?

The concern is what the OEM of the PSU is. Ofc EVGA, Seasonic, XFX, etc. have gotten a good name for themselves in terms of themselves as an OEM or the OEMs they use.

Seasonic is known as a good OEM.

I can't find much on who actually makes the internal circuitry @flaxen99.

600 watts is plenty for any Skylake build.

What's your budget in € or £, or Kr works too. I'll just have to convert it to Euros since Euros are closer to SEK than GBP.

OEM?

Original Equipment Manufacturer, the company that makes a product and other companies will resell that product under their own branding.

Some EVGA PSUs are made by Super Flower and Seasonic.

RIGHT! but you can't find who makes this one?!

I mean I really do think that it's going to get the job done...

Oh god, no, avoid it. Looks like a typical cheap PSU wrapped in slightly chintzy paint. Avoid at all costs. Get something in the PSU whitelist in my sig. I'd recommend an EVGA B2/GS/GQ/G2, Antec HCG or Seasonic G-series. You didn't list the GPU so no wattage can be specifically recommended. If you have something like a 750ti then a Corsair CX430M or EVGA 500B would be good options.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
