Posted April 5, 2016 I'd say yes: simply because the loop alone is worth 1000$ if you buy it new. I estimate that the system was about 2500-3000$ new plus working hours. considering the fact that all of the components are not that outdated in terms of performance, 1000$ is fair GUITAR BUILD LOG FROM SCRATCH OUT OF APPLEWOOD - Ryzen Build - R5 3600 | MSI X470 Gaming Plus MAX | 16GB CL16 3200MHz Corsair LPX | Dark Rock 4 MSI 2060 Super Gaming X 1TB Intel 660p | 250GB Kingston A2000 | 1TB Seagate Barracuda | 2TB WD Blue be quiet! Posted April 5, 2016 Just raw specs, it's an amazing deal! However, if you don't know/want to deal with a custom watercooling loop, it'll be a pain in the ass if something goes wrong or if you have to bleed the system. In DX11 games, a 290x sit slightly below a GTX 970 and R9 3xx is basically R9 2xx rebrand with better power consumption, so yeah, 290x is still quite good. It will however draw alot of power (nothing that 1000W PSU cant do) and is hotter than current gen card, but again, watercooling loop so it's fine.
