a few days ago, I found a plugin that fixes all the problems of YouTube. YouTube Center.

it gives the possiblity to set a standard resolution, so that you dont have to change it at every video.

you can disable "dash Playback". this is what causes the videos to not load propably. and loads of other functions

its available for Firefox and Chrome, and I think its great.

firefox link:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/youtube-center/

Chrome links:

try it out, see how you like it. I just wanted to share this.

Magic actions for youtube plug in does the same thing, and it have a lot of other nifty options. Personally I am a big fan of the "day/night" switch, which changes the background to a dark grey and inverts the text color, so that the background isn't as intrusive while watcing without turning on full screen mode.

I use something called yto, you can pre set the res that every video loads at and how big it is on your screen. Also you can remove annotations, comments, basically everything can be changed.

thats basically what youtube center is, but the reactions on it here seem quite negative.

Well it is the best thing ever! People do not know how nice it is to have every video load in 720p and not have to look at stupid annotations. Also removing suggestions has made me spend a lot less time on youtube!

As was said... A thread highlighting YouTube Center has already been made, so let's use that one.

I have to say my thanks to the people who have pointed it out and shared it with the community; I've found it to be an excellent and very useful add-on.
