Write DBAN onto a bootable usb/cd. Boot the computer with the HDD off the DBAN usb. Wipe the HDD.

This is for secure means and will take hours, as IT FUCKIN WRECK EVERY BIT OF DATA!!!! I use it when I'm mad at a drive

You can use a 3rd party like minitools or any disk wiping tool via google unless its sensitive data for faster results

The diskpart tool is the most readily available option if you're just concerned about removing the existing partitions to create a new partition layout.

I'm not disagreeing, I keep a DBAN drive on hand, just giving him an easier option to clear it out.

Well, when you put it that way, best get a drive shredder, stump grinder, some C4 (or make an IED), or at the very least, use a sledgehammer.

It would be nice if the drive still worked lol

Oh, OK. Good to clarify this first.

On that note, DBAN is your best bet for forensic data destruction. Diskpart is fine if you plan to just repartition the drive for other uses.
