Hi, im thinking of upgrading my power supply in my PC since my little 600w is coming to the end of its life. The PSU i was going to go for was the corsair RM850x

Just wondering if any of you guys have the RM850x and can vouch for it, or whether the CS or HX series are worth buying instead.

My budget for the PSU is about £100 so obviously the HX series are out of reach.

Thankyou for your help in advance.

850W is overkill for your PC

VS, CX and CS series are terrible
RM are overpriced
RMx are good
RMi are good but expensive
HX are good
HXi are good
AX are good
AXi are good.

That covers Corsair - I'd probably suggest a SeaSonic M12II EVO if you don't mind a louder fan.

I plan on getting another 980ti in the future, and my 4790k draws quite a lot of power too with being overclocked, thats the reason im going for 850s. I will take a look at what seasonic and evga have to offer.

Anything SeaSonic is guaranteed quality - they've been around the longest (over 40 years) and haven't produced a bad unit in over a decade. M12II EVO and S12G are great options.

Can you provide a link to the store(s) you are able to buy from? This will help us see what is available to you.

I would get either the Corsair RMx or EVGA G2. The G2 has a longer warranty (10 years) over the RMx (7 years) but otherwise they are both pretty much equal in terms of build quality/performance etc.

The RMx is a great unit. Go for it if the EVGA 850W GQ/GS/G2 aren't cheaper.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
