I would most likely upgrade the 380 to Polaris or Pascal in the fall.

I'm assuming this is a gaming build.

1) If I didn't need the features of the H170 chipset, I'd go for an H110 motherboard.

2) Go for an R9 390 to pair with the i5 6500.

Other than that, everything looks fine! :)

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

You could save a bit getting this motherboard

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-b150mprovd

go for a 120mm fan 4 pack if you want more fans

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200072

Otherwise maybe consider a sandisk SSD

or perhaps a less expensive case

and maybe a single 8gb stick of RAM, so that you can upgrade to 16gbs later on much easier.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

What is the difference between the H170 and H110?

Also, the reason I am getting the R9 380 is because I am going upgrade in the fall.

Its ok but dont expect to max out all games. with this build and a GTX970 then you would be maxing out games!

I know. I expect that. I am just waiting for Pascal/Polaris and will upgrade some time after they come out.

Not a great deal. You can read up on the differences here.

It really depends what your needs are and what the different boards have. I, for example, need a lot of USB ports so I tend to go with the higher H or Z series boards. I also take looks into consideration since I like cases with windows.

Would it be better to just buy a 970/390?

If you're only gaming at 1080p 60hz, there's not much reason to get higher than a 4gb 380, maybe step up to a 380X if it's not much more

Bit more stuff.

What are you upgrading to in the fall? It's a waste of money, so I'd say buy what you need now.

I have heard that Polaris and Pascal are going to be big improvements. Not sure how accurate that will be, but I thought I would wait and see.

Even if there are going to be big improvements, what's going to happen to the $170 that you spent on your GPU? And then you'll be spending even more money on another new GPU.

Unless you have an option to recycle the old part, I'd say don't buy. And who knows how much you'll get back by selling it then.

So get what you need now, or just wait for Polaris and Pascal to release, and then buy.

No idea. There are no announcements on release dates yet, but expect more information by mid 2016. Release dates could be anywhere in late 2016, but don't quote me on these. :P
