Sound issue after forcibly closing game

Hi, 

 

I had Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault running in the background when i closed the process from Task Manager. 

Now i have an issue with a buzzing sound from my speakers. It sounds like the start of the bg music from the game trying to play, but restarting within a fraction of a second. 

 

I have tried restarting the computer twice. The sound starts up as soon as windows loads, before I get to the log in screen. 

I cant see any sound being made in the volume mixer, and no bars are moving in the list of playback devices. 

 

I run windows 10 x64 

I use an Xonar D2 sound card, and cant for the life of me remember what drivers I finally managed to get to work with windows 10.

Shut down and turn off the PSU and mains.

Give it a minute and then turn everything back on.

That did it, thank you ;)

The errant sound signal probably got stuck in the cache of the soundcard. Complete power drain will flush it out.
