32gb ssd and 500gb hdd windows 10

hello folks

 

my laptop just crashed and i want to reinstal windows, i have the choice of instaling it on my 32gb ssd(before used as chace) or on my 500gb hdd and use the ssd as chace again.

 

if i instal on ssd i want to use my hdd with some kind of linkage to store my documents/my pictures (i don't know how yes if someone knows please tell me) also i will instal all my programs on my hdd

 

what is the best option??

right remove the hdd from the computer completely install windows on the ssd like you would normally then once thats done plug the hdd in and erase it then it should just show up as a D drive or whatever letter you want to give it and at like a normal storage drive

im not realy able to remove the hdd at the moment because i need to open the whole laptop, and if i do that i will replace it with a ssd(512gb) but i dont have the money, can i not instal windows on the sdd while the hdd is in the system?

when i say remove i just mean unplug as lonmg as its disconnected it can be where ever it wants to be

my laptop is build so i cant acces anyghing exept ram but maybe i can disable it via the bios would that work too?

um im not sure about that a hard disconnect is better is there really no way you can pull out a sata connection?

no sadly not looked at a teardown and it seems like i need to remove the keyboard and the whole bottom

but if i instal it on the ssd with hdd plugged in what would the problem be?

theres no problem doing it its just avoiding mistakes thats all coz when installing windows it doesnt give you mich info about the drives so you have to be certain your installing it on the right one

thank you for your help i will try it with the hdd plugged in i know which port the ssd is on so it should be easy to id ill let you know if it worked
