I'm afraid of getting GPU temps over 60 degrees, is this fan curve OK?

I dont mean to go against you, but I dont think you should even as much as raise an eyebrow until you see it go to something like 75 or 80 degrees :P

My card hits up to 77+ when being hammered in things like GTA, it is safe temp, sure a bit high, but safe nonetheless and it shouldnt damage your hardware :D Hell, AMD cards are rated safe up until 90C!

Take off the cooler, clean it really good to make sure there is no dust build up and use a good artic silver 5 paste when you re built it... should help a few degrees

I'm just wondering how GPUs can handle those temps and for CPUs, that's the danger zone

Im no genius, but Id guess different thermal designs and the way theyre laid out under the lid.

Someone else could probably give your a more in depth and sophisticated answer :P

Maybe once I move. I'll be making a new PC by then anyways (in about a month), as my AMD FX-4100 just isn't cutting it and an upgrade wouldn't be worth it for the motherboard I have (Sata II and PCI-E Version 2)

Thanks for the help though. I'm now genuinely surprised that a 4 year old GPU still can only go up to 60 degrees without removing the lid at all

Thats because its a perfectly safe temperature! :D

Also, the 650Ti is also a pretty low power card.

FX-4100 is probably showing wrong temp. 39C under load is a bit optimistic. You'd need high end water nice and cold for that load temp.

Probably just a temperature bug then. Take the temperature from the socket instead.
