haha no but it makes sense though there's millions of dollars every month in cash that needs to be transported, since marijuana is not federally legal most banks will not support electronic payments that are made out to an illegal drug (in the eyes of the U.S gov't) to even work in a dispensary there's very strict background checks and you have to cough up 150 dollars to get the license or whatever

Well good luck on your future :P

If you're even slightly interested in cyber security with a computer science degree, any organization within the DoD would love to have you.

Hah no. There is a huge push for cyber security in the federal government since the OPM data breaches and other cyber attacks. Search "cyber security" or "INFOSEC" into USAjobs (i.e. the website all federal govt job applications are handled) and you'll see what I mean. Everyone from the DOD to the DHS to the CDC is looking for IT Specialists.  The Air Force is a pretty big employer of IT Specialists and it looks like those jobs often require Air National Guard membership. So that could be a career path option if you join the military.

wow, yes he is "that" guy lol I'm feeling like the general consensus is to do it, I know its gonna be like hell in the beginning but the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence

I wont recommend going for it or not going for it. None of us can say what's best for you and your future; do what you think is best.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for those who join the military. I don't think I would join myself. (although I have insanely flat feet, which is an auto-disqualification from what I've been told.)

If you join, I wish you the best! And if you don't? I wish you the best.

To answer the OP:

I say it is worth checking out at the least—it is your future, after all. You should probably know educational benefits for the National Guard is not all that good in comparison to AR with the Army (etc). I would suggest talking to recruiters and picking up the pamphlets they have there. They can answer a lot of your questions and give you an insight on what life would be like within the Guard as well as what benefits you are eligible for.

Just remember, if you go any further with the military: GET IT ON CONTRACT.

I wish you the best whichever direction you take, and good luck as well. :)

Thanks, I will definitely take that in consideration.  Regardless I have joined a gym, that way if I decide to go then I'll be as ready as possible, and if I decide not too then I'll have a nice lean bod to make me feel better lol but, in all seriousness thank you for the words of wisdom and good luck to you on your future as well!! :)
