I bought some cherry MX KeyCaps for my keyboard along with a key puller. when i pulled up one of the keys i noticed the keys weren't the same. what kind of keys do i have on this keyboard and is there any kind of adapter i can get for them or do i need to send them back.

Pretty much this. Why would you think that a generic keyboard would have MX switches in it in the first place? You could just grab a new board for about $50 and that would be compatible with the caps...
