Long Range or Pro?

So our house is large and has a range of walls of which some (the original) are really thick stone about 20cm to 60cm for the outer walls.

We also have a area up in the garden at the back quite far away.

 

Would it be best to go for a Ubiquiti UniFi AP AC L.R. or PRO? As the long range can get further ("more power") but the pro has more "data power". Everything is significantly in there rated range but the wall are very thick.

High output antennas can only do so much, devices also have to transmit back the the AP. Stone walls will block almost all of the signal. You are better off buying cheaper AP's, like the standard AP AC Lite, and more of them. Two AP AC Lite is better than 1 AP AC LR or Pro where coverage is concerned.

Depending on how much throughput you're hoping to get, you can use power-line ethernet jacks and attach APs to them throughout the house. I just bought some gigabit models, haven't tested them yet but hoping to get at least 10-20mbps out of it (perfectly fine for internet browsing).

Problem is, is that I need to make a solution which will make my parents upgrade from the ISP (combo) crap as they really are not interested in spending anything. The WiFi only covers 3/4 of the house, the switch is 10/100 and the wan speed (ADSL) is 6.5/0.5 but there is fiber upgrade (FTTC, 1+ mile away) which has an estimate speed of 17/1 (probly be like 15>/1)

I say this as someone who has a Lite
