GPUZ and MSI Afterburner Conflicting Information?

Vivilacqua1
Go to solution Solved by CapricaBuccaneers,

HWmonitor always shows my 980Ti is running at between 405 and 595 MHz (min and max respectively).

The sensor tab in GPU-Z and Afterburner will show the correct value currently being read. This includes the GPU Boost in effect.

The general info on the front tab of GPU-Z doesn't take into account that GPU Boost so it's basically a readout of what the basic values are for a given base clock speed.

Hey, so I'm overclocking my 980ti, and am wondering what msi Afterburner is showing compared to gpuz. It was always the same when I was using my 290. (clock speed). Any ideas?56fc5fd792f46_Screenshot(4).thumb.png.52

Try another software like HWMonitor

Still not consistent info. 5somethinghundred mhz? Doesn't sound right.

What HWMonitor is showing is definitly wrong, but what MSI Afterburner and GPU-Z are showing is correct.

Afterburner is reporting the frequency at which your GPU currently is: 1520Mhz
GPU-Z is reporting your default base clock (1253Mhz) your adjustet base clock (1353Mhz) and the minimum boost clock (1455Mhz), but thanks to the GPU Boost technology your frequency boosts even higher, which is in your case 1520Mhz. This depends on load and temperatures.

So in short:

Default Base Clock (1253)
+ Overclock (100)
__________________________
Adjustet Base Clock (1353)

+ GPU Boost (102 - XXX)

__________________________
Boost Clock (1455 - XXX) / (1520 in your case)
