GTX 850M vs R9 M275

djdelarosa25

Is there a significant difference between the power of these two?

I'm in a torn situation right now. I'm deciding between two laptops, one's a Y40, and the other one's an Inspiron 14 7447. The Y40 has a 1080p screen, 8 GB of RAM, i7-4510U while the Dell has an i5-4200H, GTX 850M, 4 GB of RAM, 768p screen. Can't upgrade anything in the future. I'll be playing CS:GO, GTA V, etc.

2 - 850M is faster, yes but the 4GB of RAM might be a pain, especially for GTA V which needs 6GB I think.

Not even significant in that tier of a GPU, really.

Increses performance by around 8% - not a lot but still something. But it also increses heat output and power draw = less battery life and hotter laptop

8GB RAM - I don't care how much better the 850M is, 4GB is a pain to use nowadays. The Y40 also has a better keyboard and higher res monitor for work.
