Just received the HP a6421.uk desktop PC from le father.

It hasn't really been used.

I haven't tried booting it yet, but I'm almost certain it works.

Anyway, here is the link for the specs: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c01390599

Could someone recomend me a GPU that wouldn't be bottlenecked by the old CPU that would be able to play some older titles?

After you have recommended your GPU, could you please tell me if you think it would be able to play the Witcher 2? That is one of my favourite older titles.

Thanks!

Ok, thanks for advice. So the current CPU isn't too bad? Haven't looked around for benchmarks (assumed there wouldn't be any for this CPU).

It is bad, for any modern gaming you would need a new one.

I have the same CPU but a different gpu in a prebilt

I play'd on the battlefield 2 engine at 1080p 30 fps

IMO i would upgrade your processer

None, If upgrading you'll go to a whole new platform. else it's not worth it at all.

I'd agree with this statement.

But at that point you will be upgrading your CPU, motherboard, new RAM and he will get a GPU. Might as well get a new PC in which everything fits (Dell sometimes does weird stuff with the standoffs for the motherboard) rather than upgrading this.
