What is the difference between these processors?

I was looking at i5s on amazon and had a question.  What is the main difference between the linked processors.  Also which one is better for video editing as well as some photoshop.

The latter is much newer, and will yield slightly better performance.  It's also overclockable, and the former is not.

well the 6600k can overclock and can do a lot better at photoshop or even cpu intensive programs while the 3470 will not do as well but the difference is very minimal

The 6600k use a better architecture (skylake) and can take advantage of DDR4 memory. Also it is unlocked meaning that it can be overclocked if you desire to do so.

 

The 3470 is a couple of generations older and is locked. It will require the older LGA 1155 socket which can be harder to find).

 

Get the 6600k or even the i7-6700 if your budget permits.

Or a 4690K/4790K if OP has DDR3. Can some money without losing an insane amount of performance.
