Best GPU at a $250 or less for gaming at 1080p

I was wondering what GPU I should get. My maximum budget is US$250, I'd like to spend less if possible. I'm looking for gaming at 1080p, with modern titles at around medium-high settings. Don't really need the ultra settings. I have a 60hz monitor, so 60fps will be very good, although I wouldn't mind getting around 50fps either. TIA

Dude, he doesnt need any of them. If you want High to ultra settings in most games, get an R7 370. It will play most games at ultra @1080p with a select few that will have to be turned down in the detail. I think the witcher 3 is one of them. Not sure if you got the message so @TaZKobRa

Sounds like a R9 380X is for you. I recommend Sapphire.

 

Hell, even a cheaper R9 380 will still be capable at high settings.

You see, there issue here is that you are literally lying out of your arse. The 370 cannot do 1080p ultra or high. It's in the same league as the 950 and the 950 is a Moba card.

I have. And I find it hard to believe a R7 370 (7850) is beating a R9 280 (7950) in Witcher 3 on high settings - thus why I say it's not high settings nor Ultra

A R9 380X is double the performance of a 370 and it allows for high 60 or Ultra 60. NOT HIGH 30

It will do that at medium which the OP stated he doesn't mind playing at. But games like Fallout or GTA 5 will surely play at ultra no problem if my 360 can hit that easily.

I have a GTX 960 and I love it. Nearly every game runs on Ultra on 60fps. I can recommend the Gigabyte Windforce one. I don't know the exact price, but the G1 from Gigabyte is the best for your money.

GTX 1080 news in the next few days (April 4th-7th)... best just wait now until you can afford to pickup a GTX 970, They're around $380 for a nice G1 gaming one from Gigabyte, it'll be worth the wait and extra cash to be VR ready if you aren't. At least something to consider so you are stuck trying to upgrade again a few months down the road because you decided you want to buy yourself a Vive for Christmas or something.
