H100i gtx installation question

Go to solution Solved by Fyfey96,

I would say after a month the paste should be alright as long as you dont remove any.

If I installed the cooler upside-down (don't judge me) ^_^

I haven't corrected it for about a month because it was working fine

If I take it off, will I be able to install it the right way up or will I have to put on more thermal paste??

Redturtle

You have to reapply paste every time you take off the heatsink.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

most cooler nowadays (if not all) will work fine in either direction its mounted in

so its fine if you dont have a mini perfectionist in you to correct it

when you remove your cooler, its a good practice to remove the old thermal paste and put on some new ones

because it might leave air bubbles in between the IHS and the base of the cooler which will affect your cooling performance

but if you dont plan to go extreme with your processor, its fine to just put it back

temps might be higher by 1 or 2 celcius, but you dont have to rush out and buy a tube of thermal paste just for that

but if you have a tube of thermal paste, its good to re-apply :D

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
