Recently I purchased a 3930k and a sabertooth x79 motherboard to upgrade from z77 cause I'm cheap and didn't want to spend extra on DDR4 xD. But I'm just wondering how far could you all overclock the CPU to, I've heard of people clocking them really high before, and I would like to know what voltage you guys had too.

Thanks!

Mine gets 4.0GHz at around 1.3-1.35V, I can get it up to around 4.4GHz with 1.4V.

I am running 4.4ghz at 1.25v, I win.

Typically they achieved 4.3-4.5 Ghz at 1.35V which is about the most you want to pump into it. The earlier engineering samples that all the hardware reviewers received went up as high as 4.7-4.9 Ghz but they were never released and just golden samples. So the advertising you received about this CPU overclocking really well is all around Intel's careful loading of reviewers to show off awesome CPUs that no one would receive on purchase but since overclocking is not part of the spec of the CPU they did get away with it.
