i7-4790k VS i7-5930k

Hey! If I need a pc for some video editing, video gaming, Minecraft Gaming Server and streaming, which CPU should I choose?

 

But I scare if i choose a i7-5930k is too much for me but if i choose a i7-4790k isn't enough for me...

So, please help me to decide between this two CPU...

 i7-5930k  - no contest.

Will last you a lifetime, and is vastly superior to the 4790k in terms of editing/rendering.

If you're not going to run 3+ graphics cards, you can save 150-200 bucks and get a 5820K instead @Zhanlun Liang

unless youre going triple sli the 5930k is wasted money. for single card or dual sli get a 5820k.

The price between them isn't very big, so I think the performance is also just a little bit same right?

But I scare if i choose a i7-5930k is too much for me but if i choose a i7-4790k isn't enough for me...

How much is the 5820K for you? If it's cheaper than the 5930K, then go for the 5820K. Sounds like you don't need the extra PCIe lanes of the 5930k.

You'd get the 5820K over the 4790K for the same reasons you'd take a 5930K over the 4790K. More threads, more PCI-E lanes. The only thing the 5930K has over the 5820K is 12 more PCI-E lanes and 200MHz higher base clock, and that'll cost you something like 200 dollars extra.

 

A 5820K has enough PCI-E lanes for two graphics cards and a PCI-E SSD. Sounds like that's all you'll need.

Well, the 5820k blows the 4790k out of the water in everything.

The only major benefit of the 5930k over the 5820k is the additional PCI-e lanes, that might come in handy if you're going to have three or four cards in SLI. However, if that isn't something you plan on doing, depending on where you live, you might stand to save a lot by purchasing the 5820k instead.

 

The aforementioned 6-core X99 processors might be a little behind the LGA 1150 4790k, but they're immensely faster in terms of multi-core performance and will likely last you for years. However, keep in mind that you need to factor in platform cost as well. Even fairly high-end Z97 motherboards are cheaper than quality entry-level x99 motherboards.

5820K...

50% more CPU cores = 50% more available processing threads = 50% extra multi-thread throughput.

(assuming you will overclock it to at least 4ghz since it's unlocked and it's base clockspeed is very low...overclocking it to 4ghz is as simple as changing the CPU multiplier in your BIOS to 40.)

5820K is the best CPU you can get at a decent price right now, i would pick it over even the 6700K skylake any day of the week personally.

it's a very strong processor that will remain viable for years.

5820k - overclocks well and it runs in a very solid platform (X99).  can't go wrong with that.
