Overclcoked I74790K goes at MAX 3.1GHZ

my cpu was oc to 4.6GHZ tiil now.

i am using intel extreme tuning ultility andjust now tried to bump it to 4.7 i increased the voltage to 1.290 

and when i did a benchmark, the cpu stayed on a CONSTANT 3.10 GHZ.

i checked CPUZ too to see if a mistake but still the SAME?

why is that? help me please

Judging from your other topic, you're a fucking moron (read as retard).

 

However, on the off-chanve that you're actually having this problem, it would typically indicate a thermal problem with either the CPU or VRMs.

Take your cooler off, clean thermal paste off the heatsink and CPU, reapply a pea sized dot to the center of the CPU, apply cooler, tighten down in a cross pattern.

 

Check temps again when done.

Dont run stress tests and/or dont monitor CPU temps

okay so i did remove the cooler,cleaned it and reapplied thermal paste.

the temperature is now much better but the core clock is still at 3.1ghz

how do i get it back to normal?

Put it back to what it was before and see if it works

Thermal throttle obviously.

95°C and Haswell will throttle, so your overclock isnt good and or stable.

Also which motherboard do you have?
