Alright I may have worded this a little badly but my hard drive is very old so I'm scared it might stop working soon so I am wondering whether I should just go buy another hdd or get an SSD.

SSD all the way, the performance difference is HUGE

Though I still recommend HDDs for regular storage, as they are cheaper and easier to recover data from etc

Depends on your budget and needs

Why switch? when you can add ssd as your OS/programs and use your HHD for your data/video etc.

I'd say that not a bad thing at all. I have recently starting working with OS on SDD and files on 7200 drive and its great. A huge noticeable difference and the speed is great :)

Hey there :)

A few pros and cons from me:

- SSDs offer far better access times and read/write speeds which results in extremely lower loading and boot times, faster transfer speeds and major improvements in the overall responsiveness of your system.

- SSDs don't have any moving parts which makes them emit less noise, heat and vibrations and are not as susceptible to physical damage such as drops, shaking and others.

- SSDs are smaller in size and take up less space in the case, providing better overall airflow.

- SSDs have a limited write capacity and after reaching it they become read-only but that capacity is hardly reachable by regular users before other problems or upgrades occur.

- Getting data from a failed SSD is extremely hard and this is the major advantage of HDDs over them.

- Price per GB is still too high for SSDs to be massively used for general storage.

Post back if you have any questions :)
