Should I get Windows 7?

Recently my computer has a faded text on the bottom right of the screen which says "Windows is not activated". I contacted Microsoft after 1 hour of investigation, the dude told me I had to purchase another copy of Windows 10. This is because I just recently built a new computer and used the same HDD. Now since it is only 50 dollars and half of what Windows 10 costs on amazon, can and should I just use Windows 7 instead?

call them with a phone and they will help you fix it

they will probably ask you to give them your key and they will fix the activation

yea the key was already used, i tried it myself

wait are you still using the old PC? or did you just build a new PC and move the drive to it?

im using the new PC and I transferred the HDD from the old PC to this new PC, everything's new except the the HDD

pretty sure your windows installation is tied to the motherboard you installed it with

did you do a clean install?

because if you havent you should really do that

then when youre done installing windows 10 just call microsoft, tell them you changed your motherboard, and they will reactivate windows for you

 

their chat sucks, you wont get any help from them there
