Installing DDWRT on TEW818

elliott35

I have a trendnet tew818 dru router and they are supposedly flashable with DDWRT firmware. Do i just flash the bin file through the firmware uploader in the router? Seems too easy...

Pretty much. Don't forget to sacrifice 10 ethernet cables and a NIC to appease the networking gods so that nothing goes wrong during the flash.

That's how I flashed gargoyle to a TP-Link router of some sort, so if there's no documentation then I'd say do it.

Whats Gargoyle? Never heard of it. Is DDWRT still the best? I want to flash these routers with something because the default firmware sucks

It's like a BIOS flash. You set it to go and pray that nothing gets corrupted. You really have no control over it. Chrome, but it really doesn't matter what browser you use.

Gargoyle is another firmware, don't know a *lot* about it... It's really nice IMO. I selected it because it can create data quotas/limits per IP per time etc.

gargoyle-router.com is the website, and the website looks just like the actual interface...
