That was what I was initially thinking. But then instead of buying an Asus 1440p monitor what I came across was a samsung 4k 28'' at 150$ more and a cheap Acer 3d Full hd monitor.

3d can be fun, but its more annoying and most games dont support it well

4k is great, but hard to run, and there are scaling issues for normal windows things, also limited to 60hz and cheap 4k are often TN

1440p is amazing, and getting 144hz is fantastic too

Guys ,

I  just wanted to know which one is better:

A budget 4k monitor or a cheap Acer LED back-lit LCD 3d 1080p monitor.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks. ;)

Ive heard that its really good in games like just cause 2, and 3D doesnt give me headaches, atleast not in cinemas

Keep in mind though, that there is a lot of games that doesnt support 3D, even new releases i believe

Then get the 4K display! Or a 1440p IPS panel, or an Ultrawide display, like the Acer Predator X34 (34", 3440x1440, 100Hz, IPS).

Nothing to see here ;)

Why wouldn't it?
They both serve the same purpose, to display content?

most probably, but it wont be a great experience, since VR works best with 3d content due to the dual displays

ALSO there are times you dont want a big sweat headset on where you cant look around the room etc, and constantly have to take it on and off

I plan on getting VR but would never replace my actual monitors

I will suggest using 1440 p for overall if you don't need super precise graphics, but 4K is good if you are a very graphics demanding and game demanding person and if your pc supports 4k well.

id just use a controller for most things, but lying down wouldnt be great since you need to move your head and with the vive walk around

I intend on lots of VR but i wont be strapping it to my head for normal use, like browsing the web, photo editing etc
