if its OEM yes if its standard no though i got microsoft to unlock my OEM OS by phone several times when changing motherboards but you shouldnt count on it

Windows is tied to the hardware it was originally installed on.  If you call MS you just tell them you "replaced" a broken motherboard, not upgraded one.  They can hook you up with a key.

ii called the mc number they are saying my key is not even showing up but thats impossible because i used it on my windows

Can you see what it says for license in System? (Control Panel). Or if you have COA sticker, check what it says about it being OEM or not. OEM for Win8 and newer can't be used with another mobo than what it was first activated on.
