Not sure what this is meant to meant but it's a very good deal in Australia, $100 off the 390x and $200 off both the 980 and 980 Ti.

with those prices, my vote goes to the GTX 980.

Faster than the 390X in most situations, more efficient, better drivers and features.

He's probably living in the US, where PC-hardware is pretty much for free.

Faster than the 390x in most situations isnt good enough when it's $60 more, I would go for it purely for its resale value but if I was planning to just run it to death i'd get the 390x.

then why do you ask? what is this thread all about?! 60$ more is nothing it's like 8% more expensive or something...they cost the same and the 980 consume a lot less energy, overclock a ton better, support physX, gameworks, shadowplay, gamestream ETC... it's a much better card.

I don't see what was being asked and the thread is about the good deals on some GPUs. The 980 performs slightly better when overclocked and consumes similar power when overclocked highly. The 390x has similar performance but will edge past the OCed 980 with DX12 and in higher resolutions because of its 8GBs. PhysX is basically useless, 99% of people don't use game stream, shadow play is pretty cool and I guess game works is nice to have without terrible performance.

GameWorks Tessellation can actually be controlled on AMD via Crimson Drivers so you can dial it back to 8x and have good performance without any visual difference

Lol on this forum you'll never convince any nerds the 980 gtx is any good, I love mine, would never buy a 390x

Edit; of I was a fifteen year old buying a graphics card with allowance money, I'd buy the 390x
