Can't Set Chrome as Default Browser

have you tried going into the google chrome settings and setting it default there?

I tried it with Firefox while I was uninstalling. Doesn't work either, and after the uninstall, it doesn't work. When experimenting with FF, it didn't prompt me for setting a default browser, despite it not being shown to be set in the system settings.

I have no idea then, when I installed Chrome it set itself as default, never touched anything, hell html files are still set to open with Edge..
