i bought a maximus vi hero and i am getting an error on the q-code led

code 99  (super io initialization )

Try jumping the CMOS.

check your manual what it means, and clear CMOS

i suggest you RMA it, looks like a faulty board,

could be one of your drives/peripherals are bad, did you try unplugging them, or plugging them into another port?

first i got the code A2 so i unpluged the hdd and now i am stuck with the code 99 ,

can you try powering it up with only your monitor plugged in? if it works plug things back one by one. I've also read somewhere that you might need a bios update, and since it's an ASUS, you should be able to flash it easily.

Those manuals are pointless when it comes to figuring out the debug codes, you're better off going straight to the source. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-025434.htm

 

Error 99 is "disabling mouse" -- Do you have another mouse on hand to test?

 

Yes, a peripheral can make all the difference. I had an issue with my board and it turned out my keyboard was at fault as I was stuck on error 92.

so after clearing the cmos the mobo is restarting  by itself

It should be a relatively safe process, just don't cut the power midway.

i was afraid that the new bios will be worse but anyway  i am flashing it now
