one is older, but still efficient, the other is newer and will last after the 47k but at a price :/

there are people who still game with qx6800 (four core, no Hyperthreading...you get it) so overclocking the 4790k with a high-quality watercooling or maybe just a nice AIO watercooler will make up for it in the end.

Obviously there will be a point where OC'ing won't matter for both

Shipping sucks

I look at it like this, if I was buying NEW parts right now, I'd buy the 6700k, if I were buying USED, I'd go for the 4790k. Just as an example, I picked up my 4790k a year ago for $200 over on Overclockers.com classifieds.

Really just depends on what kind of spending you are looking at doing IMO.

Id be putting the question more like this... 6700k or 5820k. In that case... either one are viable options, personally 5820k for me.

About the only reason to go 1150 is if you want to build a cheap system now but upgrade later... such as building a system minus the GPU and getting the $69 G3258 cpu as a placeholder and later on down the road upgrading to a nice GPU and a 4790k if someone was trying to build a nice looking system on a fixed budget but wanted to finish the build later on.
