Erm... 970 or 1070 in May??

K so I have my birthday on May 9th, and I want a new GPU. Currently I want a Gigabyte 970 Xtreme because it's sexy as fuck, but I'm not sure if I should just ask for money so I can buy the 1070 when it comes out. I'm okay with waiting because my 280 that I have right now runs most games perfectly at high/ultra at 1080p, but buying things it's nearly as fun or whatever, so I need to know if it would be best to get a 970 or 1070? I know there's no set release date, but some places are reporting as specific as mid to late May and others as vague as the second half of this year.

Try buying the 970 and sell it if pascal (the new GPU) is worth buying. That's what i did.

IMO, I would wait until the next series of GPUs come out, either from AMD or Nvidia.

You'd be mad to buy a 970 now, in my opinion. If you desperately want that level of GPU and can't wait for Pascal and Polaris, at least get a 390 (unless you need Cuda, obviously).
