With my home finishing up in 3 weeks (yikes) and my home theatre will be my cave I seriously need help with stuff.

Do I keep the 70 inch 4k sharp that I just bought for $1350 or go projector? I will game in this room  And watch game film of my 11u football team I coach.

Or would a Projector be a viable option. Room is 15x16. Pre wired for 5.1 has a window, (will be covered with a swing open movie poster)

Help guys. I want to keep a total budget of $1500 for visuals.

Going Bose speakers and a pioneer elite amp with 2 sub outputs for $1000(have a sony 10 inch sub already) That is not cutting into the visual budget

Total will be $2500 for sight and sound

I would stick to your tv for now. A 4k projector is not a feasible option for most consumers at this time. And a 1080p projector that's affordable... well... your screen size is probably going to end up around 70 inches anyway.

As for sound. What do you mean you're buying Bose? I thought you wanted speakers? Why are you paying for a marketing advertisement? I would take your entire $2,500 and buy something better suited for a home theater. Consider purchasing speakers from Power Sound Audio or SVS. It will really heighten your experience over small Bose products.

I can do Svs speakers for $1000 it seems. and the pioneer amp is $300.

the BnW at bestbuy sound great tho.

Yes, no doubt that they do. I can't argue with B&W if you plan to go with them over PSA or SVS, but I can argue that anything purchased from BestBuy is going to have costs of retail built in. I'm personally a huge PSA fan myself. I spent close to $10,000 on my surround sound and I have zero regrets. Coincidentally I am coming from a 2.1 Bose system.

It's also good that you are considering dual subwoofers. I say there is no rush. Go with 5 speaker surround off the bat if you can afford it, otherwise just built your system over time. Two speakers a year or something and then one sub per year.

Well Pricing B&W 5.1 setup with a 1000 watt denon receiver 4k pass thru receiver at BB was $2400. Watched top gun and Cars in the magnolia home theatre on that set up.

Sounded amazing.

But I'm trying to see cheaper alternatives so I can put down a bigger down payment on my pool.

I would like to say that as a proud owner of a 1080p projector i use in my lounge room as a monitor all day long for movies

and gaming and shopping online so on. mine is @ 90" at the moment ,tho my projector likes it bigger(no pun) i will be making up

a new screen of about 140-180-" in size not sure yet ,This projector i use is very good for games with a very low lagg time aimed at the gamers

i even don't have to mention anything about it as Linus himself was amazed by it's straight up ability to perform.

It's around $1K here in aus i bought it straight away ,hooked it up and it blown my mind. So now ill never go back to a TV no way .

The projector i have is the BenQ W1070 .

Now i will also mention that if you buy something that looks big and to you're needs you still may run into a little thing called input lag

this little sucker can ruin your day .So keep an eye out - for me personally i stay around or below 35ms input lag as im a casual gamer not a Pro Hardcore gamer.

Sure i like shooters strategy racing all kinds of games ,but if you can not move fast enough you will be killed .Here is a link that will give you fantastic guidance

to what to look for. http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/

Now here is a few links to thee projector im running and is very recommended by me

Also user viewing (also note these look better in person)

And last 1 Clarity view (more amazing in person)

Hope this helps ,it's a contender there is newer versions of this projector Just look out for input lag times are you sir

will have an amazing time . For my Audio i picked up the Pioneer 5.1 Receiver and it's fantastic .Pioneer do do a great job there.Have fun.
