Why do you need a high-end MOBO?

Why do we need a high-end MOBO? Its just like a port for cpu, ram, gpu, etc.

For the features of the board....need build in wi-fi, lots of USB, better sound, firewire, blutooth, one touch bios flashback, better power handling for overclocking?

All of these things are more prevalent on higher end boards. Lower end boards like workstation boards have less.

There are many reasons, mostly related to the features and expansion options, but... There is one main reason that I love having my Extreme9.

It has a PLX chip, which means 32 PCIe lanes instead of 16, meaning I can use Quad-SLI without issue. And I can plug in tons of peripherals directly into the CPU. Like, a LOT of them.

On top of the features others have mentioned, more expensive enthusiast boards have higher quality components that can handle higher power, and last longer.
