6700K or 5820K...in fact if you're a gamer even the 6600K would be a good upgrade.

6700k will definitely last more than 3 years

Last I read intel is focusing more on reducing power consumption. That plus Zen cores will be about as good as ivy bridge (haswell if we're optimistic), AMD won't have anything that competes with intel until 2018/2019. 

 

So yea, like other's said, 6700K/5820K should lasts you a few years.

In my opinion it is too early to start making assumptions about the performance of unreleased products. As always if you have any information I am not aware of please let me know. I know that everyone is looking forward to the releases of the next couple product lines.

But yes, if you want to upgrade now then go with a 6700k or 5820k and it will for sure last 3+ years.
