Got a new laptop and figuring out windows 10. How can I make the shut down button easier to find. Can I change the placement of it so I see it faster?

They are different ways to shutdown Windows. You can find the shutdown button on your start menu, like in previous version of Windows. It is just above "All apps" items.

Alternatively, you can open the Power Options panel (Search on the start menu search box for: Power Options, and select it), and click on the side column, "Choose what the power do", and you can change it to shutdown your system, and now you have an easy to reach shutdown button.

Another way to shutdown your system, is you right-click on the start button (or do Win+X key), This will show the "Power menu", a cool little menu giving you quick access to many popular power user panels . But you'll also notice a shutdown option.

Be aware that if you use the Power menu, or a shortcut as pointed by Enderman, you loose Fast Boot feature. Meaning, Windows won't hibernate part of the OS that "never" changes for faster startup next time. This is why starting your computer from shutdown is faster than from restart. Restart doesn't do it, as Windows assume that something went wrong and it should load everything cleanly, and also allow you to load updated drivers, if they were updated, and of course possible Windows Update changes that updates system files.

I already created the shutdown shortcut , can delete so I can get fast boot?
