Windows problem help

Just upgraded from an am3+ fx6300 to a nice lga 1151 6700k and last night everything was running 100% a ok. This morning i turned on the pc to find a huge watermark in the corner telling me to activate windows, telling me this key was used on another pc, would it work if i were to hook up the old mobo, wipe my boot drive clean and then proceed to install with my new mobo?

Windows 10 is tied to the motherboard

if you have motherboards your windows key becomes invalid

 

You need to call microsoft and ask for a new key because you swapped hardware

Reinstalling will not change anything because your key is already tied to your old motherboard

i've heard of people calling microsoft and microsoft telling them they need to BUY a new windows key

if you call them instead of using online chat then they will help you properly

a lot of people have changed hardware and been able to get their windows license back by calling

got on the phone with an agent within seconds of requesting a call on their site, an agent asked for my product and activation key and proceeded to remotely connected to my pc(with my permission of course) and unlocked my activation for a new motherboard, my windows key is now activated and he disconnected from the remote, he then transferred me to his manager for some reason which i had no problem with but the call dropped, my windows is activated though and the annoying watermark is gone, thank you for the recommendation on calling microsoft to unlock my key, you always seem to know the fix to my problems.
