Hello I'm looking at upgrading my 8 year old PC it will no longer play the latest games, I pretty much use it as an all rounder work and gaming the work I do is only word processing.  I've been selling all my useless stuff in the house and got around £2,000, after watching Linus on you tube I thought I could do this.

I don't have very much PC knowledge and this machine was built by my brother who moved away, so I can't get him to help me with this I would like the new one to last 8 years again if possible. so this is what I was thinking:

Location: united kingdom

Budget: £2,000 can go slightly higher not much though

Use: all types of gaming new top games to indie (running a business) (wife is a teacher and she uses it)

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Mid Tower Case - Gun Metal (non negotiable I like the look)

Mother board: Asus Sabertooth X99 (because it looks strong and has a M.2 Slot which I though I could use for the HDD as a boot?)

Processor: not sure

CPU Cooler: NH-U12S Ultra-Quiet Slim (want it quiet and would prefer not to water cool in case of leeks)

GPU: was thinking nvidia geforce (as most people have them I think)

Storage: as said a M.2 SDD but I don't know if this is a good idea? and I have a 1Tb in my current machine I can use for storage.

Ram: not sure

PSU: not sure

Monitor: old monitor broke currently using a 37inc LG TV would prefer to spend the money on the PC though (I get stick from my brother about this)

Operating system: is needed not sure if windows 10 is any good

Software: will be needing Microsoft office for work

Other: mouse keyboard and speakers can be re used they work fine for me

please be kind I'm a total new comer to any kind of PC build and not sure about what I'll be needing I was going to buy it all from amazon and use the code Linus has as I'm buying it anyway and someone might well get something from it?

Save yourself some cash and use Libre office. Just remember to save as the appropriate format (.docx, xslx...)

Windows 10 is fine as long as you use Spybot anti beacon or the like.

If you're just gaming, you don't need X99, go with Z170 and a 6600k or something like that.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Some of these parts aren't that good, I'd wait for some more recommendations, I haven't done something like this in a long while...
